Our Team
Publisher Jonathan Stern is a multi-award winning
reporter who helped break several stories that sparked congressional
investigations, such as the WorldCom accounting scandal. He’s been a journalist
for more than two decades, working for DecisionHealth and affiliates since 1989.
Stern also worked for daily and weekly newspapers, covering banking, IT, finance
and telecom. A native of Phoenix, Stern received a master’s degree from The John
Hopkins University and a bachelor’s from Northern Arizona University. Reach him

Editor Maria Tsigas is an award winning reporter who
has unearthed several alarming trends in the private duty industry, including
increased union efforts to organize private duty home care workers. After
getting a bachelor’s in nursing at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, she
practiced nursing in the Washington D.C. area for five years. She then earned a
master’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland. She joined
DecisionHealth as the clinical/regulatory reporter covering Medicare home health
in 2004, and then became the editor of Private Duty Insider in 2005. Tsigas came
to DecisionHealth from a daily newspaper, The Carroll County Times,
where she covered health care and city government and community news. Reach her
